Eighty years of Vebego
On 1 February 1943, Tonny Goedmakers started a cleaning company in Heerlen. Eighty years later, this company has grown to become Vebego, with 40,000 employees in four countries. Now owned by the third generation of Goedmakers and full of ambition to deliver Great Work for customers, employees and society.
To commemorate this milestone, the first design of a fine piece of art was presented at Cortenbach Castle in Voerendaal, home of the Vebego Group. A glass was raised to the 80 years to come. The final artwork will be placed in the castle garden after the summer and then festively revealed in a wider circle.
In addition, the municipality of Voerendaal has decided to rename the cycle and walking path ‘Bicycle path in the King’ that runs between Voerendaal and Heerlen the ‘Tonny Goedmakers path’. By doing so, the municipality pays tribute to the important role Vebego has played as an employer and company over the years for the Parkstad-Limburg region and for Voerendaal in particular. A nice gesture towards the founder of our company and towards the company Hago that laid the roots for it all. His views on the importance of employee development and well-being live on at Vebego as we know it today and in the values that were established by the Goedmakers family its family statute.
