Changes in the Board at Vebego
The Dutch family business Vebego is announcing a change in the Executive Board. Niel Cortenraad, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), and Giuseppe Santagada, Chief Operations Officer (COO), will leave the organisation at the end of 2023. Vebego is active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. In 2020, Vebego started a major transition from many small companies in four countries to the establishment of 11 large companies in four segments; cleaning, facility management, landscaping and healthcare.
This transition started three years ago and Vebego has now entered a new phase in which 11 strong, professional companies have emerged. As a result, the holding company, Vebego Group, is gradually taking on the role of strategic architect. The Group sets frameworks for the companies, with the emphasis being on achieving impact and encouraging entrepreneurship. As the organisation enters the next phase, changes in the Executive Board are appropriate.
First, the role of CSO, which was introduced in 2019, will cease to exist and therefore Niel Cortenraad has decided to leave the company. Niel: “Now that Vebego’s transition is in the next phase, we have agreed that strategy is a matter for the entire Executive Board and not just for one board member. I fully support this. I am very proud of what we have achieved. Vebego is ready for the future.”
Giuseppe Santagada, currently COO for Germany and Switzerland, is leaving Vebego at the end of this year. In addition to his future role as Group CEO of a Swiss construction and real estate company, Giuseppe will continue his role in the Verwaltungsrat [Supervisory Board]. This way, he remains involved with Vebego in Switzerland. Giuseppe: “It was a great pleasure to lead the Swiss and later also the German activities for Vebego. It has given me great satisfaction to build a professional and customer-focused company and to integrate the Move and Hectas companies over the years.”
Ton Goedmakers, Vebego’s CEO: "The drive and professionalism of Niel and Giuseppe have contributed to a future-proof and solid Vebego. We thank them both for the huge role they have played in the transformation of our organisation.”
