Royal visit in Uden: Queen Máxima visits Vebego

On Wednesday 28 June, Queen Máxima, honorary president of SchuldenlabNL, visited Vebego as part of the action meeting of the National Coalition on Financial Health (NCFG). Her Majesty was welcomed by Ton Goedmakers (CEO) of Vebego, host of the meeting organised at IBN in Uden. The NCFG is a broad coalition of 42 organisations and businesses whose main goal is to cut in half the number of workers who are financially unhealthy by 2030.

Working is participating

IBN and Vebego encourage people distanced from the labour market to participate. Vebego even has the ambition that 30% of its workforce in 2030 should consist of people who could not find work before that. Vebego does this by offering programs that will enable people to become fit for work in six to nine months.
Vebego and IBN work together with the candidates on physical, mental and financial fitness. Roy Budjhawan: “Besides professional knowledge, we also support our employees with other initiatives, such as ergonomic advice, psychological assistance and help with money worries. It’s precisely by looking at the big picture that we see that the chances of success increase enormously.”

Both IBN and Vebego deal with many people who are financially vulnerable. “Financial problems create worries. This leads to stress, frequent absenteeism and carelessness or even work-related accidents. If an employee with money worries asks for help, we look at the financial situation together and offer help and guidance. It’s a theme that touches our hearts. We’re highly motivated to contribute to sharing knowledge and experiences to strengthen the financial health of vulnerable people,” says Ton Goedmakers.

Contributing to an inclusive society

The queen listened attentively to Roy Budjhawan’s conversation with two colleagues who were previously distanced from the labour market and are now employed by IBN. The conversation concluded with a call from Budjhawan: “I hereby invite the members of the NCFG to join us; to train people, but also to offer them a workplace, to contribute to an inclusive labour market and by extension an inclusive society.”
