Ronald Goedmakers joins the Vebego Supervisory Board
Ronald Goedmakers will formally take over the baton from his brother Ton Goedmakers Sr. as a member of the Supervisory Board on behalf of the family from 1 January 2025. Ronald already joined the Supervisory Board in October 2024.
Ton Goedmakers, Vebego’s CEO: ‘I would like to thank my father for his many years of commitment and dedication to Vebego. He worked in the company for more than thirty years, after which he took on the role of Supervisory Board member on behalf of the family. His entrepreneurial spirit and creativity have greatly contributed to Vebego’s growth. Moreover, he has added more substance to the community and social element, which is in our DNA, by being the first service provider in the Netherlands to cooperate with social employment and by setting up the Vebego Foundation. I am delighted that my uncle Ronald is taking over his role as Supervisory Board member. This ensures continuity and Vebego will continue to benefit from his experience, knowledge and sharp vision.’
Annette Ottolini, Chair of the Supervisory Board: ‘Ton Goedmakers Sr. has always kept the family values in mind within the Supervisory Board, as laid down in the family statute. He is known within the Supervisory Board for his knowledge of the industry and careful consideration of all stakeholder interests in discussions and decision-making. We thank him for his valuable contribution and the pleasant collaboration. At the same time, we would like to extend a warm welcome Ronald as our new member. His extensive experience as a Vebego director, his sector knowledge and network are extremely valuable to the Supervisory Board and the organisation. We look forward to continued cooperation.’
Ton Goedmakers Sr. started his career at Vebego in 1976 and occupied the role of CEO from 1980 to 2006. Under his leadership, the company grew significantly, both nationally and internationally. In the early 2000s, Ton Sr. started a collaboration with social employment services, which resulted in the ambition to provide structural support to people with a distance to the labour market. Vebego has set itself the goal that by 2030 at least 30% of its workforce will consist of people with a distance to the labour market. Ton Sr. also founded the Vebego Foundation in 2005, an independent foundation that focuses on a better future for underprivileged children and young people, financed in part by Vebego’s profits. Shortly after stepping down from the Board of Directors, he joined the Supervisory Board.
Ronald Goedmakers started his career at Vebego in 1988 and joined the Board of Directors in 2000. Under his leadership, the focus shifted to four core countries, instead of the twelve where Vebego was active at the time, a strategic reorientation that covered the period from 2001 to 2014. This process laid the foundation for further growth and the current strategy. Ronald ensured that Vebego became even more of a people-oriented company, with a strong focus on creating meaningful jobs. He was CEO from 2006 to 2021, and then stepped down as a member of the Board of Directors on 1 February 2024
